Beware the gutter painters

Mildura Council is warning residents about dodgy tradesmen who offer to paint property numbers on gutters situated outside people's homes.
The council says that the tradesmen give the impression that they work for the council by dressing in similar uniforms.
Additionally the council has reported that it has had accounts from residents who had paid yet received unsatisfactory work including jobs that had washed off in the rain.
The council says it does not provide a gutter painting service and does not endorse it because they are easily obscured by parked vehicles, and rubbed off by car tyres and street sweeping equipment.
